What the Google Cloud databases (MCP Toolbox) MCP server does

Gives an AI assistant the ability to run plain-English database queries, carry out schema discovery and upkeep, and produce code aware of the database structure. Tool access can be narrowed to SQL-only operations using the postgres/data set from the prebuilt collection. For local setups, launch it with a config file via npx @toolbox-sdk/server --config tools.yaml, or use a downloaded toolbox binary. Works with gemini-cli and claude-code. Connection details are supplied through environment variables; see the Prebuilt Tools Reference for local server.
