Privacy policy
We collect as little as we can: your email address, and only when you give it to us. No ads, no tracking cookies, no selling data.
What we collect
- Newsletter. When you subscribe to The Dowse of AI: your email address, when you signed up, and which form you used.
- Tool submissions. The tool's name, website, description, main use and pricing you enter, whether you made it, and your email address.
- Sponsor enquiries. Your name, work email, company, tool website, interests and message, if you join the sponsor waitlist.
- Error reports. What you tell us is wrong, the page it's about, and your email address if you choose to give it.
Visit statistics
We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which doesn't use cookies and doesn't collect personal data. It tells us things like how many people viewed a page, which site sent them and what kind of device they used, only as totals.
What we don't collect
DowseAI has no advertising trackers and sets no cookies. Your theme choice and whether you've subscribed or closed the newsletter prompt are saved in your own browser's storage, on your device only; we never see them.
Why we use it
- To send the newsletter you asked for. Every email will have an unsubscribe link.
- To review a tool you submitted and tell you whether it's listed.
- To check and fix a listing you reported, and reply if you left an email.
- To reply to a sponsor enquiry.
We don't sell or rent your data, and we don't use it for advertising.
Who processes it for us
- Cloudflare hosts the website and provides the visit statistics. Like any web host, it handles the technical data of each request (such as IP address and browser) to deliver and protect the site.
- Supabase stores the database that holds the information above.
Before the first newsletter is sent, we'll add an email delivery provider and list it here.
How long we keep it
Newsletter addresses: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Submissions, error reports and sponsor enquiries: up to 12 months after we've dealt with them.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you, or withdraw your consent at any time, by emailinghello@dowseai.com. These rights apply under laws including the EU and UK GDPR and India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act. If you're unhappy with our answer, you can complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
DowseAI isn't meant for children, and we don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
