Slack MCP server

The Slack MCP server lets AI assistants look up channel content, post and schedule messages, read threads, and manage files, reactions, users, and lists.

  • Hosted (remote)

What the Slack MCP server does

Slack's developer docs list this hosted server, which lets integrated apps such as Claude Code and Cursor run Slack actions. Available actions include searching messages and files by date, user, or content type; posting to any conversation type; scheduling future messages; reading full channel histories and threads; creating channels, group DMs, or IMs; adding and retrieving emoji reactions; exporting canvases as markdown; fetching complete user profiles; listing channel member IDs; uploading files in two steps; and creating, reading, and updating lists and records. The server is at https://mcp.slack.com/mcp and authenticates through Slack OAuth. Only Marketplace-published and internal apps may use it, requests honor any configured IP allowlist, and it uses JSON-RPC 2.0 over Streamable HTTP without SSE or Dynamic Client Registration.
