What happened
On October 15, 2026, Hugging Face revealed Muse Spark Open, an open-weight mixture-of-experts model built by Meta. It accepts text, images, audio, and video inputs and produces text outputs. The model has roughly 816 billion parameters, with about 42 billion engaged for each token, and supports contexts up to one million tokens long. Two checkpoint repositories were listed: Muse-Spark-Open-816B-A42B and its NVFP4 variant, the latter designed for NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs.
Why it matters
Meta built this model with agentic programming in mind, covering codebase comprehension, writing and fixing code, and invoking tools. Developers pursuing such work can now obtain its checkpoints through those repositories.
