What the Obsidian MCP server does

An assistant can list files and directories in the vault or in a specific directory, and read the contents of a single file. It can also search for documents matching a text query across the vault, insert or append content to notes, and delete files or directories. The server works with Obsidian through the Local REST API community plugin.
