What the Stripe MCP server does

Agents can invoke this server's functions to reach the Stripe API: looking up API methods, retrieving data via GET endpoints, and writing data through POST, PATCH, PUT and DELETE calls. Additional functions cover searching Stripe docs and handling certain account, analytics and Treasury operations, a few of which are still in public preview. It is reachable at a remote URL and can be accessed with OAuth or an agent API key.

  • “Use OAuth for interactive MCP clients. OAuth lets you authorise and revoke a client without sharing an API key”
  • “Use an agent API key when an AI application needs independent, persistent access to Stripe”
  • “Stripe requires human confirmation before it takes certain stripe _ api _ write actions, such as refunds and outbound payments”
  • “Migrate by 30 November 2026. Starting in December, Stripe MCP will stop accepting full-access secret keys and restricted API keys without the Agent tag”
  • “MCP doesn’t support OAuth when acting on behalf of connected accounts”
