What the Using git worktrees (Superpowers) skill does

It makes sure an isolated workspace is in place, relying on built-in worktree tools when they exist and falling back to manual git worktree commands otherwise. It applies when a feature must be kept apart from the current workspace, or before carrying out implementation plans. The skill also covers detecting whether the assistant already sits in an isolated workspace, confirming the target directory is git-ignored before a worktree is created, running project setup, and running tests to verify the workspace begins in a clean state.

What it covers

  • Uses native worktree tools when available
