Hatoba

Hatoba is an open-source desktop SSH client offering an AI assistant that helps diagnose and fix problems on hosts.

What Hatoba does

It is a desktop SSH client that includes an AI assistant working beside the terminal. The assistant can read the terminal screen and files on a host to help find and fix issues. Sync stores hosts, keys, and AI conversations across devices in the user's own Cloudflare account.

Key features

  • AI assistant beside the terminal that reads the screen and runs commands
  • Command approval with optional Auto mode for safe commands
  • Diff view with revert for every file the assistant changes
  • Support for OpenAI-compatible and Anthropic APIs, including local models
  • Sync via a Worker and D1 database deployed to the user's Cloudflare account
  • End-to-end encryption of data on the device before sync
  • Host management with groups, tags, favorites and fuzzy search
  • Resource usage view of saved hosts read over SSH
  • SFTP file panel with drag-and-drop upload and downloads
  • Local, remote and SOCKS port forwarding
  • Key support for Ed25519, ECDSA, RSA, and ssh-agent
  • Vault keys derived with Argon2id and items encrypted with AES-256-GCM

Pros

Pros

  • Source code is available under the MIT license, so users can review how data is handled.
  • Data is encrypted on the device before it is synced, so the server side holds only ciphertext.
  • Commands require approval before running, and file changes can be reverted.
